I like to compare the artist’s work with the investigation of an archeologist, who uses his understanding of the past and digs in the ground strata to find traces of our distant and unconscious history. An archeologist's major discovery can revolutionize our relationship with beliefs, and make the mystery of origins deeper and deeper.
For me, it’s from this place of not knowing that comes the desire of creation. My tools to investigate are brushes, pencils, burins and dry points. I use various techniques to make images that, in a more or less suggestive way, are plausible to the visible world. They reflect the ambiguity of our relationship with what we call “reality”, and unfold organically, like different elements of an ecosystem.
The scenography of my works reinforces this dialogue. It shows the unity of a personal universe inhabited by its creatures, and how the elements of a different nature can be parts of a single body.
